T-CAT Combined with Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking (CXL)

Overview

T-CAT (Topography-guided Custom Ablation Treatment) combined with Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking (CXL) is a state-of-the-art approach to managing progressive keratoconus and other ectatic corneal disorders. This treatment not only reshapes the corneal surface for improved visual quality but also strengthens it to prevent further deterioration.

Treatment Goals

• Improve corneal regularity and optical performance

Procedure Steps

1. High-Resolution Diagnostic Imaging
   Using the CSO MS-39, detailed corneal topography and tomography are captured to guide the customized ablation.
2. T-CAT Laser Ablation
   A minimal tissue-removal ablation is performed with the SCHWIND AMARIS 1050RS laser to regularize the corneal surface.
3. Corneal Cross-Linking (CXL)
   Riboflavin drops are applied followed by UV-A light exposure to create new collagen bonds, strengthening the corneal structure.
